Fitzroy Stretches was established in 2002 with a new approach to supplying art materials – a small business responsive to artists looking for reasonably-priced stretching services, and a balance between traditional, quality products and the latest in innovative approaches to painting.

The business grew out of its tiny factory in Fitzroy and, in 2005, relocated to its larger home in Brunswick. What began as a one-man operation has now become a dedicated and enthusiastic team of professionals. We recognise that turnaround time is an important factor for artists, and endeavour to process orders within 3 to 5 working days.

Fitzroy Stretches is the Australian agent for the Italian Caravaggio collection of cottons and linens. We are also the first company to develop heavy-duty stretchers in hardwood instead of the more traditional pine, which is notoriously prone to warping. The business has built upon its reputation for providing quality service and producing stable frames, and now stocks an ever-expanding range of paint and drawing materials that are high-quality, but affordable.

Since its beginnings, Fitzroy Stretches has grown to become a place that artists across Australia call upon to help them realise their ideas.
