The Sennelier Oil Stick allows a different approach to oil painting. These solid paints can be applied directly onto canvas or layered over an existing oil or acrylic painting.
In the oil sticks, a proportion of the oil is substituted with a neutral mineral wax. The colours are of perfect quality: pure pigments are ground into vegetable oils (siccatives), selected for their low degree of yellowing with time. The high concentration of pigments enables excellent light resistance to be achieved.
Layers can be overlapped and, as with traditional oil paints, the colours can be thinned with an artist's turpentine. A clear medium is available for transparency and glazing effects. Allow 2-5 days drying time.
